I am pleased to welcome each and everyone of you to the Pohnpei State Government website.  The website provides an opportunity for the State Government to put into reality its policy of open government where the public will have access to up-to-date information on what is happening in the State Government, especially the Executive Branch.

When the administration began in January of this year, we pledged to faithfully carry out the Constitution and laws of Pohnpei State and the Federated States of Micronesia.  We also dedicated and affirmed our commitment to promote peace, unity, and a better Pohnpei.  This was especially fitting as we proceeded forward in the year 2004.

We realized from the outset that there will be challenges ahead of us and we were prepared to take on these challenges.  We have faced challenges and will continue to do so in the years ahead.  The website will be bringing to you information on these challenges as they unfold and are dealt with and disposed.

Since last administration to the present, we adopted honesty as our motto to guide us in our public service to the people of Pohnpei.  We believe honesty surpasses all other virtues in public service.  It is in this context that we will be sharing information with you on Pohnpei State Government through this website.  Likewise, we also ask that you be honest with us in sharing your views with us on what we are doing for the people of Pohnpei.
