Back in 2003, after combined lobbying efforts by the Social
Security Administrators of the FSM, ROP, and RMI, the U.S. Department
of the Interior approved Grant No. PAL-98 to the three social security
administrations for the purpose of upgrading their computer systems. The
approval of the grant set in motion the steps leading up to August 2,
2005, when Donna White and Jill Derrickson of White Computer Services
arrived in Pohnpei for the installation of an upgrade to the database
system used by the FSMSSA. Beforehand, hardware upgrades had been installed
to accomodate the increased power requirements of the new software. |
