S. Perman Donates Hut for the FSMSSA’s Beneficiaries
At
3:30 p.m. on February 15, 2008, the formal opening ceremony took place
for a hut that would serve as a resting place for beneficiaries as they
wait for their benefit checks at the end of every month. The hut is
located right next to the FSM Social Security Pohnpei Branch Office.
Ferney S. Perman, an FSM Telecommunications employee, donated the state
of the art hut to the FSM Social Security Administration’s many
beneficiaries to ease the benefit-day hassle they endure every end of
month when they stand in line to receive their benefit checks. Present
at the ceremony were Ferney S. Perman and his wife, Miyuki D. Perman,
Perman’s employees who built the hut, the FSM Social Security
Board of Trustees Chairman, former Lt. Governor of Pohnpei, Jack E.
Yakana, and FSM Social Security staff.
In his short speech, Yakana thanked Perman on behalf of the FSMSSA and
its many beneficiaries. He said it was quite rare to find someone so
giving in our community today. To give without the expectation of receiving
is very unique. FSMSS Administrator Alexander R. Narruhn presented Mr.
Perman with a certification of appreciation for his goodwill.
The administration acknowledged that its thanks were but infinitesimal
in comparison to what its beneficiaries must feel toward Mr. Perman.
