Simina wins Chuuk governor's runoff

The runoff election for the posts of Governor and Lieutenant Governor for the state of Chuuk was held on April 5, 2005. Running mates Wesly Simina and Johnson Elimo campaigned against Kanichy Welle and Tos Nakayama Jr. who were also running mates. According to the Chuuk Election Commissioner, Simina and Elimo won the most number of votes for the runoff election, the total result is 13,877 to 13,233 in favor of Simina and Elimo. The following are the results from the thirteen election districts in Chuuk.

According to the Chuuk Election Office, the result from election district one is 2,350 to 1,936 in favor of Simina and Elimo. In election district two, the result is 976 to 959 in favor of Welle and Nakayama. In election district three, the result is 1,272 to 812 in favor of Welle and Nakayama. Election district four's result is 679 to 655 in favor of Welle and Nakayama. In election district five the result is 827 to 734 in favor of Simina and Elimo, in election district six the result is 1128 to 658 in favor of Welle and Nakayama.

In election district seven, the result is 1324 to1245 in favor of Simina and Elimo. The result for election district no eight is 332 to 243 in favor of Welle and Nakayama. Result for election district nine is 397 to 363 in favor of Simina and Elimo. In election district ten, the result is 790 to 285 in favor of Simina and Elimo.

In election district eleven, the result is 316 to 289 in favor of Simina and Elimo. In election district twelve, the result is 156 to 242 in favor of Welle and Nakayama and the result for election district thirteen is 284 to 359 in favor of Welle and Nakayama.

The result of the VAAPP, which stands for voting at another poling place or the absentee result, is 4106 to 3392 in favor of Simina and Elimo. The total result for the runoff election is 13877 to 13233 in favor of Simina and Elimo.
