April 13, 2012 Federated States of Micronesia-Post Offices in the FSM will be open for business on Saturdays. FSM Postmaster General Ginger Porter Mida made the announcement in a memo dated April 10, 2012 and was effective beginning on that day.
The memo said that business hours on Saturdays will be 9:00 A.M. through 2:00 P.M every Saturday.
All post offices will be able to accept packages for mailing. In Chuuk, Yap, and Kosrae packages can also be picked up on Saturdays. Because customs clearance procedures are different in Pohnpei than in the other FSM States, packages will not be available for Saturday pickup in Pohnpei.
